FBI Director Comey testified before the Senate Intelligence Committee this morning, and while he refused to comment on most questions brought up due to the classified nature of the investigation, he did make an extremely disturbing revelation.

Senator Lindsey Graham (R-SC), a hawk who has struggled to balance his support for Trump’s racist policies against his Russophobia, asked: “Is it fair to say that the Russian government is still involved in American politics?”

Comey replied with a definitive “yes.”

Just last night, President Trump still refused to acknowledge the Russian interference in the 2016 presidential election or that his team engaged in collusion with the Russian government in order to subvert our democratic processes, calling it a “phony” story.

But the director of the FBI just announced that not only did the Russians interfere in the 2016 election, they are still interfering in American politics.

The sharp difference in statements between the White House and the Federal Bureau of Investigation is further proof that we need an independent prosecutor to properly conduct this investigation and get to the bottom of the Russian plots to interfere in our political system on behalf of the Republican Party.
