Last week, Jared Kushner was decimated with bombshell after bombshell in a devastating series of reports tying him to Russia. Meanwhile, the crime his family committed by using Kushner’s “closeness” to the president was pushed aside.
One Republican Senator and Chairman of the Senate Judiciary Committee, Chuck Grassley (R-Iowa), demands that federal immigration and investment regulators investigate the connection between the Kushner family business and their partner Chinese company.
Grassley wrote a letter addressed to Homeland Security Secretary John Kelly and Security and Exchange Commission Chairman Jay Clayton.
“Recent press reports indicate that Qiaowai has touted its relationship with the current administration as a guarantee that potential EB-5 [investor visa] investors will receive lawful permanent residence in return for a no-risk investment in One Journal Square.”
The “recent press reports” were published by the New York Times, exposing the Kushner family for trading Chinese investors green cards in exchange for investments into their project.
via the Times:
“They said the president would make sure it came through. They said there was no chance it could fail.”
Kushner disconnected from Kushner Companies earlier this year, however, the family is using his connection to Trump for their own benefit, which is a serious conflict of interest.
The Kushner family is using the EB-5 program with the goal of raising $150 million from the Chinese. The EB-5 program allows Chinese investors to receive a green card in exchange for $500,000.
Grassley demanded a response by June 7. He stated, “It appears the information regarding green card and no-risk guarantees violates our immigration laws.”
