Today, a fight broke out inside the State Capitol Building among Texas state representatives after a Republican threatened Hispanic protestors. The Republican Representative, Matt Rinaldi, told peaceful protesters that he called the ICE.
When Democratic reps heard his cruel threat, both sides engaged in a physical altercation.
According to The Texas Observer, Rinaldi said, “F*ck them, I called ICE.” The report continues saying that Rinaldi threatened to “put a bullet in one of his colleague’s heads.”
Under Trump, the GOP continues to become more aggressive toward their opposition and get away with it. Last week, Montana Republican candidate, Greg Gianforte, choke slammed a Guardian reporter and was only charged with a misdemeanor. He also won the special election.
These vile acts committed by Republicans are actually boosting their popularity in deeply red states where people feed off violence and racism.
The protesters were there to demonstrate against the passage of an anti-sanctuary cities bill. The peaceful crowd can be seen below:
