Footage from Michelle Obama’s visit to Beyoncé’s private birthday party was leaked online in a tweet this weekend.
Never Before Seen private footage of Beyoncé, Solange & Michelle Obama! #ByeFelicia
The video, from a Beyoncé fan account, depicts former First Lady Michelle Obama, Beyoncé and her sister Solange, saying “Bye Felicia!” to the camera. The expression “Bye, Felicia,” comes from Ice Cube’s iconic line in the 1995 cult classic Friday.
The fan account posted a subsequent tweet confirming that the video was indeed taken from “Beyoncé’s private birthday party last year.”

This was, of course, not the first interaction between Beyoncé and Obama.
“Queen Bee” had previously performed for former President Obama and the First Lady at the 2009 inaugural ball and even partnered with Mrs. Obama on her 2010 “Let’s Move” campaign to fight childhood obesity. Trump has since moved to end the girls education program.
While Melania Trump’s cyber bullying campaign has yet to materialize, America continues to yearn for a time when our First Lady was a source of inspiration to our young people. And the reception to this video is proof that she continues to be.
